Whilst a wind was blowing, and there was some snow in the air, the visibility was still good, so we decided to stay. And wow, was it worth it! After staying put on the top for 7 long hours, we witnessed the wildest cloud show of our lives! After an hour or two, only the mountain top we were standing on was free of clouds. They were rolling in from all directions, then were torn to shreds and were hanging like a thin veil in the air, until being sucked into a crevice on the West slope of Stetinden. Our wind bag, sleeping mat, bivouac boots, foot warmers and Snickers bars kept us warm on the ledge whilst we were enjoying this private viewing of nature\u2019s colossal performance which so unexpectedly unfolded in the front of our eyes. Tidlig p\u00e5 morgenen 17. september stod vi p\u00e5 toppen av Store Sm\u00f8rstabstinden under soloppgangen og ventet p\u00e5 at det skulle klarne opp. Toppen ligger p\u00e5 2208 moh. inne i Jotunheimen og vi m\u00e5tte starte tidlig p\u00e5 den siste etappen. Til tross for at det bl\u00e5ste kraftig med lett sn\u00f8drev var sikten s\u00e5pass god at vi bestemte oss for \u00e5 bli. Og gjett om det var verdt det! Igjennom 7 lange og kalde timer p\u00e5 toppen ble vi vitner til de mest spektakul\u00e6re og villeste sky formasjoner vi noen gang har sett i l\u00f8pet av v\u00e5re liv. Etter ett par timer var det kun toppen vi stod p\u00e5 som ikke var ber\u00f8rt av skyene. De rullet inn fra alle himmelretninger, skiftet form, ble revet i filler og hang som et tynt sl\u00f8r foran fjellsidene f\u00f8r de oppl\u00f8ste seg. Alt skjedde i et voldsomt tempo og skapte ekstra utfordringer for meg som fotograf. P\u00e5 vestsiden av Stetinden oppstod det et fenomen som sugde ned og til seg alt av skyer fra alle kanter innenfor en radius p\u00e5 ett par kilometer.
